  Salicylic acid is an organic acid with the chemical formula C7H6O3. It is a white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in cold water, readily soluble in hot water, ethanol, ether , and soluble in hot benzene. It is mainly used as an important raw material for fine chemicals such as pharmaceuticals, fragrances, dyes, pesticides and rubber additives

1.It is used as a standard, fluorescent indicator and complexation indicator for alkaline and iodometric titration.
2. In the rubber industry, it is used as an anti-scorching agent and for the production of ultraviolet absorbers and foaming agents, etc.
3. It is used as a compound indicator, compound masking agent, color developer and preservative for ions such as titanium, zirconium and tungsten.
4. It can be used as an additive in some weakly acidic electrolytes and also as a complexing agent for electroplating or electroless plating.
5. It is used as a preservative in cosmetics, mainly in water-based cosmetics such as flower water, heat rash water. In addition to its preservative and bactericidal effects, it also has the functions of eliminating sweat odor, relieving itching and reducing swelling, relieving pain and reducing inflammation.
6. It is used as a raw material in the pharmaceutical industry for the preparation of drugs such as aspirin, sodium salicylate, salicylamide, analgesic acid, phenyl salicylate, and schapharma-67. The dye industry uses it to prepare mordant pure yellow, direct brown 3GN, acid chrome yellow, etc. It is also used as a rubber vulcanization delay agent and a disinfectant and preservative, etc.
7. It can be used as an accelerator for the curing of epoxy resin, also as a preservative, and can be used to prepare synthetic fragrances such as methyl salicylate and ethyl salicylate. In the dye industry, it can be used as a raw material for the preparation of direct dyes and acid dyes, and can also be used as a rubber anti-scorching agent and disinfectant, etc.
