Characteristics

 

It mainly used in the production of stearate. Each gram is dissolved in 21ml ethanol, 5ml benzene, It is produced by hydrolysis of oils and is mainly used to produce stearate. The industrial product has a purity of 40-97% and is white or slightly yellow or lumpy. It is a mixture of stearic acid and palmitic acid (hexadecanoic acid), and contains a small amount of oleic acid. It has a slight fatty smell and is non-toxic. There are many types of commercial stearic acid. As a lubricant, it is better to use the one with lower iodine value and ester value. This will not affect the heat resistance and weather resistance of the product.

2. Used in various cosmetics such as lotions, creams and lipsticks to increase product consistency and improve stability

Stability/Shelf life

 

Hygroscopic. Air-sensitive.
Must be stored in airtight containers to preserve its normality as it will absorb water from the atmosphere; Store in a cool, dry and ventilated place; Avoid direct sunlight.
